There is perhaps no more of a classic Indian takeout dish than chicken tikka masala. With help from Chef Palak Patel, we challenged Andy Baraghani to make his own chicken tikka masala faster than it takes for delivery to arrive. Both Harold and Chrissy beat the clock in their episodes of Taking on Takeout. Was Andy up to the challenge?

i feel like he did not win because the delivery was there before he was done. maybe he made a better tikka masala but it "make X dish faster then delivery" and he didnt do it

Cinnamon in Tikka Masala ☹️ Oh no. And honestly, Andy made more of a traditional Tikka as the tikka masala sauce is not so creamy and smooth. Tikka masala should be a little grainy, can have black peppercorns and onion. The takeaway was close to butter chicken than tikka masala. Kudos to Andy for a more Indian Tikka Masala 🥰

Trust me Andy's chicken tikka masala looks and am sure tastes way more authentic than the takeout one, the color, the texture of the charred chicken, the rice which is so separate, its just right. Plus the takeout people have all the gravies for the dishes ready and the rice too, they just have to cook the chicken in the tandoor that's it, Am with Andy here, he Won this one for sure!

There are some flavors that take time to build on that you cannot procure in under 30 minutes. Restaurants usually have the curry already made as well the rice so those flavors are probably deeper and more rich. But for 30 minutes I think you did an excellent job and would definitely eat your food.

We'll considering most of the dish is kept pre-done in restaurants, and a good part of tikka and rice is marinating/soaking, I think Andy nailed it!

for making sauce in short time. it is better to roast big chunks of onion,chillies and totmato with other whole spieces with using oil or without using it and then blend it and cook it again with hitting oil or butter not ghee.

honestly... they could have just waited to relocate and film this where it doesnt sound like theres a blow dryer literally inside the microphone. i get that ventilation is important but it doesnt impact the quality of videos elsewhere.
